On 18th November a group of 20+ Hermanus Bird Club members enjoyed a cruise on the Lady Stanford. Not only is the skipper, Peter Hochfelden, an excellent skipper, he is also a very, very good birder. His knowledge of the river and possible species to look out for made spotting special species like Martial Eagle, Black Cuckoo, African Paradise Flycatcher, Black-crowned Night Heron, Knysna Woodpecker and the hyperactive little warblers easy targets to tick.
