Marine Dynamics enjoys sightings of copper sharks (bronze whalers), visiting great white sharks and even the occasional stingray at our vessel. Great White Shark behaviour is less predictable post orca predation in 2017. Daily blog of sightings is available. All content on our website is the property of Marine Dynamics.
Please note that the Conservation Fee is compulsory. Please check the Add-on and specify the number of adults and children during the booking process. The booking will not be successful if this add-on is not selected and accounted for all members in the group.
Unlike bungy jumping or sky diving, the adrenaline rush from shark cage diving comes from being face to face with our ocean’s top predators.
The experience puts you in their territory while the safety of the activity allows you to be an observer and learn what these sharks are really like. An onboard marine biologist will educate you about these amazing predators.
Shark Cage Diving is safe for children and elders and gives the whole family a wonderful opportunity to bond in a fun environment surrounded by experts and researchers.
After this once in a life time experience, you’ll find yourself buzzing with excitement and adrenaline. You will have had the opportunity to come up close and personal with one of the oceans most majestic and foreboding creatures.
Here is a brief breakdown of what to expect once you arrive:
• Before the trip guests meet at THE GREAT WHITE HOUSE in Kleinbaai
• You will receive breakfast or lunch and register your wetsuit size
• Guests receive a pre-trip safety briefing about what to expect during the trip and a biological background on great white sharks
• We then take a 200m stroll down to the harbour to board Slashfin
• Travel time to Dyer Island is approximately 20 minutes, with the shallows being a short 10 minute ride (where we anchor depends on where the sharks are)
• On average, we anchor for 2 hours, but this depends on shark activity, conditions, as well as number of divers
• Weather permitting, we take a quick trip through the infamous Shark Alley
• Lastly, a debrief in the Great White House and a celebratory beverage to toast the occasion!
Why We Are Different:
• A dedicated marine biologist on board every trip
• Our Boat (Slashfin) is the largest in the industry (most deck space per customer) and was purposely built for shark cage diving and includes two restrooms, and an upper deck for the ultimate viewing and photography experience when not in the cage.
• A fully licensed Restaurant and Crew House, aptly named the GREAT WHITE HOUSE, which includes facilities such as: 2 marine rooms where professional safety and informative briefings are given before each trip + separate ladies/gents/handicap restroom facilities with a 5-star rating + curio shop
• We guarantee clean, dry wetsuits (a rarity in the industry)
• Our crew receives as many compliments as the Great White Sharks, with more combined experience than any other Shark Cage Diving crew.
• You will leave with great memories and a deep appreciation of this majestic animal.
Thank you for paying the conservation fee, your money goes directly towards the Dyer Island Conservation Trust, enabling us to do research, monitoring, attend to marine animal strandings, rehabilitation- and marine conservation work. This would not be possible without your conservation fee. This fee ensures that the whales, sharks, dolphins, seals and African penguins of the Dyer Island Eco System, will be here, not only upon your return, but your children and grandchildren’s return.

We loved our experience from beginning to end. Very knowledgeable and fun staff - Sabrina
Very lovely staff. Very accommodating. Very informative. I always wondered, you do this twice daily all week and still keep the same energy and fun. That's incredible. The experience was nothing short of thrilling. Definitely one of my most priced moments and experiences. And would recommend this to anyone. Viva Marine Dynamics. Worth every penny. - Israel
We had such an amazing experience with Marine Dynamics! The entire team was so knowledgeable and friendly. We were able to see SO many sharks and throughly enjoyed our time on the boat even after our turn in the cage. The entire process felt seamless and we were well looked after throughout the experience. The food and snacks were great and the volunteers who made hot chocolate for divers coming out of the cage were SO appreciated. Thank you so much to the entire team for giving us a memorable day that we will cherish forever! - Smith
Cage diving was a bucket list activity for us, but doing it ethically was very important. Marine Dynamics is exactly that. Our guide Suzie was so knowledgeable and kind. You can tell she truly loved and cared for sharks. All of the crew was very professional as well. Our driver also stopped to point out whales and baboons which was an added bonus. They included a breakfast and lunch which was a great bonus. Be warned, if you get picked up from Cape Town it's a very long day as you are stopping to pick up others plus it's a 2 hour drive to the dive house. We were gone for about 11 hours total, but worth it. We saw 10 different bronze whaler sharks and seals while diving. - Reagan
The most amazing tour! In every moment you feel safe, and the staff makes you feel comfrotable. You can see how much everyone is enjoying their tasks and the responsibility and love that it takes to do them. I would definitely recommend this experience. - Andrea
