Each of our food tours focuses on local favourite food’s and local experiences in the heart of the Mother City
On this 3 hour walking tour, we will go from the Bo-Kaap (Cape Malay) to traditional South African foods to some local favorites in-between
As we take you from the very heartbeat of Bo-Kaap and look beyond the colourful homes found in the community, with local Cape Malay favourites food tastings of a local koesister at the Faeez’s home kitchen, koesisters and tea are best part of a Sunday morning in Cape Town, next a visit to oldest spice store in Cape Town, Atlas Spice, and find out along the way the vital role that food had to play, in the early establishment of Cape Town along the spice route.
Visit the oldest fruit bearing vine in the Southern Hemisphere at the Cape Heritage, while enjoying a taste of South African cuisine, with South Africa’s most popular traditional dishes while enjoying the magnificent views of the courtyard at the Heritage Square.
One of our favourite stops, along the route is at the Honest Chocolate Cafe, owned by two friends Anthony and Michael who believe in the bean to bar theory with a taste of some of Cape Town’s well known “Don’t be scared of the dark, because dark dreams are only made from dark chocolate, at Honest Chocolate” (with a local favourite twist)
And end the tour off in the magnificent Company Gardens, a true oasis the center of Cape Town where the story of the Mother City really comes to life in the of the Old refreshment station while enjoying a local South African beverage in the stunning surrounds of the Company Garden.
This is certainly a tour not to be missed.
