Franschhoek Valley:
Breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, and fine wines: These are the hallmarks of the beautiful Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands. When the Huguenots first settled in this spectacular valley over 300 years ago, they brought with them their traditions and knowledge in winemaking and viticulture from their native France and transformed the wilderness around them into one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. This proud heritage can be seen and felt today in the Village and on the surrounding farms.

The fertile Franschhoek Valley is home to some of South Africa’s noble cultivars and classic styles. These range from superb whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Chenin Blanc, to the full-bodied reds of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Merlot.

Customer Reviews

Our curator Roger was very knowledgable and had a great personality which made to tour fun. The wines were very good and the lunch excellent. - Garry ATKINS

Roger was AMAZING! Very very informative and knowledgable. He was so much fun and made the day really special. Thank you so much! - Michael Makepeace

My husband and I are really pleased we chose this tour. Everything was organised for us and we got a VIP service in the wineries. For anyone worried that three wineries isn't enough - please don't be concerned, we tasted around 13 different wines as well as seeing behind the scenes, learning how wine is made, and visiting the vineyards. Everyone in the group was exhausted by the end! It was a really special experience and we got to know the people in our group, which built a sense of comradery. - Eleanor Thompson

We loved this day, our guide Roger was very knowledgeable but at the start of the day he promised us we'd drink "a lot of good wine". He was right, we had a lovely lunch and even sampled a flight of wine to match the different types of Biltong (chocolate for non biltong lovers)! All in all a wonderful experience! - John Welsby

Amazing day. Extremely knowledgable tour guide who really knew his stuff: about wine, about the region. Would strongly recommend. - Stephen Walsh
