Marine Dynamics enjoys sightings of great whites, copper sharks (bronze whalers) and even the occasional stingray at our vessel. Great White Shark behaviour is less predictable post orca predation in 2017. Daily blog of sightings is available. All content on our website is the property of Marine Dynamics.
Unlike bungy jumping or sky diving, the adrenaline rush from shark cage diving comes from being face to face with one of the world’s greatest predators: the Great White Shark.
The experience puts you in their territory while the safety of the activity allows you to be an observer and learn what Great White Sharks are really like. An on board marine biologist will educate you about this amazing apex predator.
Shark Cage Diving is safe for children and elders and gives the whole family a wonderful opportunity to bond in a fun environment surrounded by experts and researchers.
After this once in a life time experience, you’ll find yourself buzzing with excitement and adrenaline. You will have had the opportunity to come up close and personal with one of the oceans most majestic and foreboding creatures.
Here is a brief breakdown of what to expect once you arrive:
• Before the trip guests meet at THE GREAT WHITE HOUSE in Kleinbaai
• You will receive breakfast or lunch and register your wetsuit size
• Guests receive a pre-trip safety briefing about what to expect during the trip and a biological background on great white sharks
• We then take a 200m stroll down to the harbour to board Slashfin
• Travel time to Dyer Island is approximately 20 minutes, with the shallows being a short 10 minute ride (where we anchor depends on where the sharks are)
• On average, we anchor for 2 hours, but this depends on shark activity, conditions, as well as number of divers
• Weather permitting, we take a quick trip through the infamous Shark Alley
• Lastly, a debrief in the Great White House and a celebratory beverage to toast the occasion!

• Our crew receives as many compliments as the Great White Sharks, with more combined experience than any other Shark Cage Diving crew.
• You will leave with great memories and a deep appreciation of this majestic animal.
A Shark Cage Dive / Viewing guided by a marine biologist, a light meal (breakfast or lunch depending on time of trip), refreshments on board and soup and bread on return is included.
Equipment such as wet suits, booties, masks, towel are provided. Life jackets and waterproof jacket is alo supplied.
A video link of your experience is not included in the price but can be purchased in addition to the dive / viewing excursion. Cost R200.
This is uploaded 24-48 hours after trip and once downloaded can be used across social platforms and saved for your memories.

Please allow enough time for transport from Cape Town (3 hours) and Hermanus (1 hour) when travelling to Gansbaai. Please be aware that there are road works en route and waiting times are included in the above travelling times.

Super Tour, wir haben 7-10 Bronzehaie gesehen. Den Weissen bekommt man nur noch selten zu sehen. Die Haie werden mit Fischol angelockt. Das ist wohl auch der Grund das dem einen oder anderem mal unwohl wird. Jedenfalls ein einmaliges Erlebnis und nur zu Topen wenn man Tauchen geht und Haie sieht. - Thomas

The greeting at venue and breakfast was great. Our guide was very informative and everything went smoothly. She was very helpful and friendly I find that the group was too big for the boat with the staff aswell. It was difficult to move around and also because everyone about got seasick it was a struggle to deal with that. But the staff was great and made sure everyone got the best treatment and the experience was amazing.. Thank you! - Bernadette
Super experience. Bon accueil avec boissons chaudes et lunch, debriefing puis recuperation des gilets de sauvetage et parkas et en avant l'aventure. Petit temps de traversee puis ancre larguee. Nous avons vu plusieurs especes de requins, notre guide nous a donne plein d'informations et l'equipage etait tres sympa. Plongee en cage incroyable, on pourrait toucher les requins tellement ils passent pres de nous. C'est une experience inoubliable. Une petite boisson chaude et douche chaude a la sortie de la cage, car l'eau etait tres froide. Etant les derniers a passer, il a fallu vite se rhabiller donc nous n'avons pas vraiment eu le temps de profiter de la boisson chaude. En revanche, au retour, boissons chaudes et soupe ont ete proposees, delicate attention pour se rechauffer. - Audrey
It was truly a great experience that we enjoyed very much. Although saw no Great Whites we saw loads of massive Bronze Whaler Sharks that more than made up for it. The staff were very professional and knowledgeable. I loved the fact that while we were enjoying ourselves seeing the sharks and being in the water with them, the marine biologist on board with us was recording the condition and size of the sharks for monitoring purposes and made me feel like to money I'm spending is actually going towards conservation of these incredible creatures. - Mr
