Marine Dynamics enjoys sightings of great whites, copper sharks (bronze whalers) and even the occasional stingray at our vessel. Unlike bungy jumping or sky diving, the adrenaline rush from shark cage diving comes from being face to face with one of the world’s greatest predators: the Great White Shark.
The experience puts you in their territory while the safety of the activity allows you to be an observer and learn what Great White Sharks are really like. An on board marine biologist will educate you about this amazing apex predator.
Shark Cage Diving is safe for children and elders and gives the whole family a wonderful opportunity to bond in a fun environment surrounded by experts and researchers.
After this once in a life time experience, you’ll find yourself buzzing with excitement and adrenaline. You will have had the opportunity to come up close and personal with one of the oceans most majestic and foreboding creatures.
Here is a brief breakdown of what to expect once you arrive:
• Before the trip guests meet at THE GREAT WHITE HOUSE in Kleinbaai
• You will receive breakfast or lunch and register your wetsuit size
• Guests receive a pre-trip safety briefing about what to expect during the trip and a biological background on great white sharks
• We then take a 200m stroll down to the harbour to board Slashfin
• Travel time to Dyer Island is approximately 20 minutes, with the shallows being a short 10 minute ride (where we anchor depends on where the sharks are)
• On average, we anchor for 2 hours, but this depends on shark activity, conditions, as well as number of divers
• Weather permitting, we take a quick trip through the infamous Shark Alley
• Lastly, a debrief in the Great White House and a celebratory beverage to toast the occasion!

• Our crew receives as many compliments as the Great White Sharks, with more combined experience than any other Shark Cage Diving crew.

A Shark Cage Dive / Viewing guided by a marine biologist, a light meal (breakfast or lunch depending on time of trip), refreshments on board and soup and bread on return is included.
Equipment such as wet suits, booties, masks, towel are provided. Life jackets and waterproof jacket is alo supplied.
A video link of your experience is not included in the price but can be purchased in addition to the dive / viewing excursion. Cost R200.
This is uploaded 24-48 hours after trip and once downloaded can be used across social platforms and saved for your memories.

Please allow enough time for transport from Cape Town (3 hours) and Hermanus (1 hour) when travelling to Gansbaai. Please be aware that there are road works en route and waiting times are included in the above travelling times.

We had a fantastic morning on the shark cage diving trip. We enjoyed our breakfast and were given a thorough briefing by our guide, Alina The check in was very smooth and the system of kit in cloth bags worked well. The journey to the dive site was speedy so we all had maximum shark watching time. Everything was really well organised. The only slight issue was that, as we were the last group to go in the cage, we were quite rushed getting changed back into our clothes. However, this did mean we had maximum shark and stingray watching time. Alina was super, kind, helpful and very knowledgeable. She really helped make the trip memorable. A lovely friendly place made us feel relaxed. Everyone on the boat helped with wetsuits. Luckily it was a calm and sunny day. Being the second party to go in the cage , we saw how to get in the cage and all sharks , stingrays around. It's was extremely exciting. The sharks are so near you . The visibility was not the best but the sharks were big enough. A hot drink was appreciated while watching a seal playing. The dinner was good and to discuss what we had seen and experienced is a memory I will not forget. Thank you all again. Incredible experience. - Paul
