Panthera Africa Educational Children's Visit

Stanford, Western Cape

Activity Description

One of Panthera Africa’s main purposes is to be an educational platform where we create awareness about the conditions big cats face in captivity, and how animal welfare and enrichment plays a vital role in giving them the best captive life possible. We are a true sanctuary where no cub petting, breeding or trading takes place.

On our educational visits you have the chance of capturing photographs of the big cats in their beautiful Natural homes, and get to know about their unique stories, in addition to the important facts about the species and their different situations. We strongly believe in the importance of educating you about animal welfare and conservation, so together with a staff member you will be taken for a lovely walk whilst admiring the beautiful cats.

We ask you kindly to arrive 15 minutes prior to your visit.

We look forward to sharing our dream with you, and to introducing you to our four legged friends!

Customer Reviews

The thing which most impacted me was the extraordinary determination and passion of the person who envisaged and then was able to motivate the resources to create the sanctuary. The power of one can be amazing. One could wishbto see more of the cats while appreciating they are not on display in limited cages as in a zoo. Definitely educational and the children enjoyed it.the comparison of the weight of a tiger with the bodies of 8 children struck home. - Mary

We enjoyed the tour and the information provided by the tour leader. The cats are magnificent and it's hard to believe they can be so badly treated before arrival at Panthera. Well done to the rescuers. - Gary

We enjoyed a very insightful visit to Panthera Africa. My kids thoroughly enjoyed looking for the big cats and learning more about them. It is wonderful to see that Conservation and rehabilitation is exactly what you do for these cats. Keep up the great work and we will keep spreading the news. Panthera Africa genuinely cares about the well being of our big cats. - Letitia

We loved our visit to Panthera. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and world class. It was moving to see how dedicated the staff are and how the animals are so well cared for. The toddler in our group was in awe - as were the adults. We will be back :) - Allison&

Hi there the tour was good, a bit underwhelming as to what we expected but good! I also feel that it was quite expensive and you should look at not charging for children under a certain age like 4/5 as they really take so little in! Just a suggestion Thanks so much - Candice
