Almost anybody can experience the magic of free flight by participating in an introductory tandem flight with an instructor. The introductory briefing takes just a few minutes and you’re off, gliding through the air in search of waves of lift with a qualified Tandem Flight Instructor. No previous experience is required. Experience the thrill of paragliding flight by joining us on one of our intro-experiences.
Winelands Tandem Paragliding Experiences can take place at DU TOITS KLOOF PASS and PAARL ROCK near Paarl. ANY OF THE SITES MAY BE BOOKED BUT WHERE WE FLY FROM ON THE DAY OF YOUR BOOKING IS DETERMINED BY THE WEATHER AND WIND DIRECTION.
If we are unable to fly on the day of your booking because of unsafe weather, you are welcome to reschedule to a better day or claim a refund.

Where DU TOITS KLOOF paragliding location is at the last lookout stop before entering the kloof on Du Toits Kloof pass(R101). https://goo.gl/maps/7a6LrvafTqihHKvZ7There are unfortunately no shops or toilets near the launch area. PAARL ROCK we meet at Bootleggers in Frater Square. https://maps.app.goo.gl/y6NsomLNSgvmShin9. From there we drive up Jan Phillips drive to Paarl Rock in an open-air game viewer-style vehicle. If you prefer you can meet us at Paarl Rock.
WeatherParagliding is entirely weather dependent, we can only fly at your preferred time and site if the weather allows. Each paragliding SITE requires a very specific wind direction and wind speed. Be sure to check in with us 2 hours before the time of your booking to confirm WHERE we are flying and whether the weather is suitable. We do not take any chances with you, our valued client and will only fly if it is safe to do so. If we are unable to fly on the day of your booking because of unsafe weather, you are welcome to reschedule to a better day or claim a refund. If you are unable to fly during your stay in our area we will give you a full refund.
What to Wear1. We recommend you wear trousers or shorts and a light jacket or windbreaker, depending on the weather. 2. All participants must please wear hiking shoes or trainers 3. Sunglasses are a good idea. 4. Dresses, skirts and any sandals are not suitable. 5. In winter a warm windbreaker and gloves are recommended.
Things to Bring1. A copy of your booking confirmation or gift voucher. 2. Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. 3. R70 conservation fee if we are flying at Mont Rochelle Nature reserve in Franschhoek. 4. R30 CASH conservation fee if we are flying at Paarl Rock Nature reserve in Paarl.
Guests or SpectatorsGuest and spectators are welcome to join for free unless they require the use of our transport service or the location requires an admittance/conservation fee.

Inclusions and Exclusions

Inclusions

Personal qualified Tandem Flight instructor who will brief you and prepare you for your introductory experience.
We also provide the flying gear which includes a paragliding helmet and harness.
A ride back to the meeting point.

Exclusions

Pick-up and drop-off service.
In-flight media package consisting of HD videos and pictures taken during the flight. Please select this as an add on during booking.
Conservation and permit fees for entering Mont Rochelle Nature reserve(R70) and Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve (R30).

Notes

Be sure to check in with us 2 hours before the time of your booking to confirm WHICH SITE the weather is suitable to fly on the day. We do not take any chances with you, our valued client and will only fly if it is safe to do so. Please make sure you have the correct location for the day and try to arrive 15 minutes before your booking time so you can get introduced to your instructor who will take you through a pre-flight briefing. The duration of the flight is entirely weather dependent. If you are unable to fly during your stay in our area we will give you a full refund.
